In a style reminiscent of Matisse, Octavia's paintings of interiors and still lifes are vibrant and colorful. In her commissioned pieces she incorporates elements of a specific interior, such as accessories, fabrics and patterns. Her usual medium is oil but recently she has incorporated more collages in her work and she finds herself moving more towards the abstract.

Born in Weiden, Germany to an American military father and a German-Yugoslavian mother, her family traveled and lived in many different parts of the world. During her years in Paris, France she developed a deep appreciation and love for art and it was there that she won her first art competition at age 12. She has since won many more awards and has exhibited her works throughout the DC metro area.

Octavia is a full time interior designer with the Ethan Allen Company at Tyson's Corner where she combines her artistic talent with her good eye for design. Octavia studied art in Paris, Tokyo, and as well as in the United States. Locally, she has studied at the Corcoran and keeps current by taking classes at the Northern Virginia Community College's Loudoun campus, located near the home she shares with her husband in Sterling, Virginia.
